about craps

Don’t be daunted by the size of a craps tables or its seemingly endless variety of bets. If you’re new to the game, take a deep a breath and keep the following in mind

Craps is a dice game, which means the pair of die dictate the outcome of each betting round.

Start off slow with the most common craps bet – the Pass Line Bet – and as your confidence grows, you can learn more about the various other craps bets.

how the pass line bet works

Once you have your chips and are parked at your (virtual) craps table, the first thing you need to do is place your bets. As a newbie, select the area of the table called the Pass Line to place your bets.

Next, as the dedicated “shooter” you get to throw the dice (which will always be you by default in online craps games), which you can do by clicking the button labeled Roll.

As the first roll of a craps game, this is logically known as the come-out roll, and as such, there will always be three possible results:

7 or 11, which is called a “natural”. If the dice show either of these numbers, you win your Pass Line bet, and double up. For instance, if your bet was $20, you’d win $20, to give you a total of $40. After every natural, a new game starts with another come-out roll.

2, 3 or 12, which is known as “craps”. If the dice show either of these numbers you lose your Pass Line bet and the game is over. After every craps, a new game starts with another come-out roll.

4, 5, 6, 8, 9, or 10, either of which is known as your “point” for the rest of the game. The idea is that if you keep rolling the dice to win your Pass Line bet. If you throw your point before you roll a 7, you will win your Pass Line bet, and if you don’t, you will lose your Pass Line bet. In either case, a new game will follow.
